Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya is the exiled leader of Belarus's democratic movement and the most prominent challenger to Aliaksandr Lukashenka's authoritarian rule. Originally a political novice and the wife of blogger Siarhei Tsikhanouski, she entered the 2020 presidential race after her husband was barred from running. Her candidacy united diverse opposition forces and inspired an unprecedented wave of civic mobilisation across Belarus.
