"We are getting very close to a trade war, which is the last thing that the EU wants. Their strategy so far has been to descalate and delay and that has not paid off. So we are reaching this moment of truth on 1 August when these tariffs come in, and also the EU's retaliation will kick in on the same date. If we don't have a deal by then, then there will be even higher retaliation," Aslak Berg told BBC News.
