Over the last decade the EU has passed a vast array of new legislation, ranging from tech and privacy to the green deal. Many of these new acts are only now beginning to be implemented. At the same time, there is a recognition that the cost of regulation has grown high: the new Competitive Compass emphasises simplification and better regulation. Can the EU regulate less, but better?
