Helmi Pillai was the Clara Marina O’Donnell fellow (2022-2023) at the CER. Her research focused on the European Union’s foreign policy with a particular focus on Northern European security policy.

Before joining the CER, Helmi studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science (UK), Sciences Po (France) and Durham University (UK).

Helmi holds a dual MA and MSc in European Studies and a BA in Sociology.
