Migration

The EU’s migration and security woes have boosted populism and nativism across the bloc. The COVID-19 outbreak has complicated things even further. Member-states have re-instated national borders, leaders refuse to take asylum seekers in and lack of co-ordination threatens the single market and hampers the EU’s passport free area of Schengen. If left unsolved, the migration and Schengen crises could eventually deal a fatal blow to the European project itself.
